Bay Area News Group Names Course Hero 2016's Top Workplace

By Julia Dunn on June 30, 2016

On June 27, 2016, the Bay Area News Group named Course Hero as a 2016 Top Workplace. The award was granted after “a rigorous assessment of Course Hero’s workplace culture” and a survey of Course Hero employees.

Workplace Dynamics CEO Doug Claffey said in the press release that “the Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. Oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits … But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day — the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together.”

A sense of connection is essential for an organization to be named a Top Workplace.

Course Hero is a popular online learning platform that facilitates the academic success of  millions of students and educators. It allows teachers and students to share course-specific study material anytime and anywhere, while also serving as a platform for tutors and course assistants to assist other students as needed any time of day.

This is particularly productive for a diverse group of employees (Course Hero employs product managers from tech businesses such as Google, web designers, engineers, marketing professionals and teachers).
